While no one else was keen to be in this family of four picture, I wanted it! Next time I wont take it during fussy-before-bedtime time. But here we are - me and my 3 boys. I really do have reason to smile. That, or I'm particularly enjoying that evening's bottle of chardonnay. One or the other. Take your pick.

Happy 3 month "birthday" little monkey bear! What a trip its been. We're all so glad you're your pudgy, healthy, happy self (with handsome new haircut, my big boy!). *love*

"Sunny Day!"

Smiling Jude

Despite his lingering cold and devilish big brother, Jude is such a happy go lucky kinda guy. Nice that he's been practicing his smiles to go along with his little sweet personality!

What a weekend.

Things that happened this weekend include:
  • Ethan turned 2. Horray!
  • Ethan was up all Friday night with the tummy flu. Sick sick sick. Poor bubba. Poor mummy!
  • Judie got his first haircut! So handsome.
  • Troy got the tummy flu Saturday night. Sick sick sick. Poor Troy boy. Poor mummy!
  • Papa visited and everyone enjoyed playing with Papa.
  • Mummy's eaten way too much cake. But mummy deserves it.

Guess who is turining 2?

Where has the time gone? The frantic tedium that is parenting a toddler has really been racing by. Tomorow, Ethan turns two years old.

I hope we all haven't aged so quickly!

Happy birthday, my big big boy.

We love you bunches!

oh my...

Its barely 8:30 - children are BOTH in bed (Jude an hour early!?), I've had my bath, I have a glass of wine left in the bottom of the bottle, and I have an hour or so TO MYSELF. Did you hear that? TO MYSELF!

I'll tell you one thing, I'm not going to waste one more minute on the timesuck that is the internet - I'm going to turn this beast off, put on my pjs, and grab a BOOK (oh my god) and READ IT.

Really, this is a Momentus Occassion. Only newish parents and parents of 2 under 2 understand what I'm going on about.

What next, sleeping in?

Ha hahahahahahahhahahahahaha as if.

boots

Another (4th) picture for you all - before I go to bed: Ethan and his new (to him, but 2nd hand) yellow rain boots. He loves them, for some reason! Yay, yellow boots!

But for some reason he only wants to wear them around the house, not outside.

Boys are weird.

poor little E

Poor Ethan is sick. He came down with a virus of some kind today - runny nose, dry croupy sounding cough, fever. He's acting so sick too - so uncommon for him. I feel so badly for him and wish I could make him feel better. He's just miserable, meek and sad.

Would be a great time for a visit from Nan! *hint hint*

Please send healthy vibes our way, for our little man.

An extra, colourful picture today - Judie enjoying his hand-me-down gymini. Yes, that is a little smile there you see!

Poor boy has a cold and cough today - likely caught from a certain playdate we had last Friday. Which always happens. His cough has me worried - it doesnt seem to bother him but sounds a little croupy - but upon researching croup it may sound like it but doesnt have the other onset characteristics. I'll keep on it. E's napping on a tylenol cold slumber, Jude's sleeping in the baby carrier on my chest. I am not sleeping - because JUDE SLEPT 10 HOURS LAST NIGHT and I won the sleep lottery. Yay! Ok now to forage something to eat while trying not to drop crumbs down my sleeping baby's neck. xo

Ethan's been such a good boy today! He's even playing by himself in his playhouse as I type this. I can't tell you what a good mood this puts me in. What a break for his old mum. Feels almost as good as a shopping high, or that first sip of wine. Almost. Actually, who am I kidding? :)

2.03.2006

had a nice visit with dad earlier this week - its always a good time, too short, and a luxury to be taken for dinner and shopping. Dad and I have the kind of father/daughter relationships that I think most families aspire too - I'm very lucky that we're so close. I keep telling him he should retire and relocate to my city - with the excuse of seeing much more of his little grandsons (and selfishly, me) but so far he's not buying it. I guess he's just a big city boy at heart. He'd also have to find a place to park the boat. Currently outside is a big truck chopping fallen tree branches into a chipper - a windstorm earlier this week felled 2 trees across our driveway and our neighbours', and cut down powerlines. We're all okay but the mess is still being cleaned up. Just intime for more storms anticipated tonight. Whoopie! Better stock up on candles, blankets and wine! Happy weekend to all.
